A Plumber’s Dream project, now changing lives in Ayacucho, Peru.

This year, The Plumber’s Dream is committed to supporting a new project introduced to us by Mr. Biviano. This project addresses the challenges faced by students in a distant village. These students are in their final year of high school, and when they graduate, most of them travel to the capital city to pursue further studies and improve their prospects beyond what their parents achieved. However, upon arriving in the capital, they often face a harsh reality. The city can be expensive, unfamiliar, and overwhelming for students who have grown up in quiet mountain communities.

These teenagers grow up in a small village surrounded by nature, where they are free from pollution, cars, buses, and trains. They cultivate their own food, and everyone in the community knows each other because it is a close-knit town. In contrast, the capital city is vast and perilous. Contrary to their expectations, there are not as many opportunities available as they believed.

Mr. Biviano Arotinco, a retired professional baker, offers his services as a teacher. He will travel to local schools to teach final-year high school students how to make bread, cakes, cookies, and pizza using ingredients that are readily available in their area. This initiative provides teenagers with an opportunity to explore their creativity and potentially earn some income by selling their creations.

We believe it is important for young people to use their skills and creativity to create something valuable. To facilitate this, we coordinated with the principal of Maria Parado de Bellido School and local authorities in Huacana City, Ayacucho State, Peru, to secure a space for the classes.

We have 30 eager students ready to learn. Thanks to Arch Plumbing, we were able to purchase ingredients for demonstrations, as well as backpacks, school supplies, hats, t-shirts, and travel tickets to transport everything to the students.

Mr. Biviano will travel with one of our volunteers, Judith. She will assist the students by distributing the packages we sent and ensuring that everyone receives their items. We are really excited because this is the first time we are implementing this type of proposal. The Plumbers’ Dream has always aimed to help children under 12 get the supplies they need to start school and protect themselves from the winter. However, we have never worked with teenagers before. Our volunteer Judith and Mr. Biviano will travel to Ayacucho with everything they need, including an oven for baking.
During our first meeting, Judith, our volunteer, will deliver hats and t-shirts from Plumber’s Dream to each student and send them to the classroom with Mr. Biviano Arotinco to start the lesson. He will provide them with a small book that contains the names of each product and ingredient for every preparation. There will also be a teacher assisting us with the chicken sauce preparation. After Mr. Biviano explains everything, the students will have the opportunity to participate in the preparation process. Afterward, Judith will distribute gifts to the students that ARCH PLUMBING has put together, including bags filled with backpacks and school supplies.

Thank you, Arch Plumbing, for sending the ingredients and paying for all of this process to be completed, and for sending a gift to each student; they really appreciate it.
