Every year, The Plumber’s Dream makes a difference in the lives of children living in remote communities throughout Peru. In 2026, our journey took us to four communities in the Ayacucho region, where we delivered essential supplies and shared moments of happiness with families facing difficult circumstances.

This mission was made possible through the generosity of Arch Plumbing and Tony and Allison Perry, who donated queen-size duvets, winter jackets, shoes, hats, toys, school supplies, cleaning supplies, and other essentials.

Our team also prepared warm chocolate milk and sweet bread for the children and their families, making each gathering a special experience.

The Journey Begins

Our journey started in Lima, where we organized and packed all the donated items before traveling approximately six hours into the mountains to reach Querobamba.

The winding roads and high altitude made the journey challenging, but reaching these communities made every mile worthwhile.

After arriving, our team spent the evening preparing individual gift packages, protecting the duvets in bags, and organizing supplies for the villages we would visit the following day.

Early the next morning, we stopped in Huaco to deliver supplies to the local health post before continuing deeper into the mountains.

Lunco Village: A New Community for 2026

One of the most memorable parts of our mission was visiting Lunco Village for the first time.

Located near snow-capped mountains, Lunco is a remote community where families mainly depend on raising livestock. There is no reliable electricity or running water, and residents must travel to nearby rivers to collect water. Illegal mining activities have also made life increasingly difficult for families.

Despite these challenges, the community welcomed us warmly.

During our visit, we met 10 children. We shared chocolate milk and sweet bread before distributing the individual gift packages and essential supplies brought from Lima. Seeing their excitement and smiles made the long journey worthwhile.

Meeting the Children of Pampaminas and Huaco

Our next stop was Pampaminas Village, where we met six children waiting for our arrival. We shared refreshments and distributed the gifts and supplies prepared for them.

We also visited Huaco Village, where we met five children. Huaco holds a special place in our hearts because it was the first community The Plumber’s Dream began supporting in 2018.

Over the years, we have watched many children grow. Several have completed their studies, moved to larger cities, and started building new futures.

One particularly special moment was seeing Flor, whom we first met when she was just three years old. Today, she is one of the oldest girls in the group. Seeing her healthy, happy, and continuing her education was incredibly rewarding.

Flor and her friends received gift packages and warm duvets to help them through the cold mountain nights.

Welcoming a New Community Near Querobamba

After completing our visits around Huaco, we returned to Querobamba and traveled approximately 30 minutes outside town to meet another group of families.

These families had previously lived higher in the mountains but were forced to relocate because of dangers associated with illegal mining. The local government provided land where they could establish a new community.

We also learned about their traditional homes, many of which were built using mud and ichu, a native Andean Peruvian grass.

The children were excited to meet our team. For many of them, it was their first time trying chocolate milk and sweet bread. Their smiles and curiosity made this another unforgettable moment of our journey.

More Than Donations

While delivering essential supplies is an important part of our mission, The Plumber’s Dream is about much more than material gifts.

Our purpose is to build relationships, encourage children, and remind families that they are not forgotten.

Whether it is a warm duvet, a pair of shoes, a toy, or a cup of chocolate milk, even a small act of kindness can bring happiness and comfort to a child.

Returning to familiar communities like Huaco and welcoming new ones like Lunco reminds us why we continue this mission every year.

Thank You for Making This Mission Possible

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Arch Plumbing, Tony and Allison Perry, and everyone who supported our efforts throughout the year.

Because of your generosity, children and families across the Ayacucho region received warm clothing, duvets, shoes, school supplies, toys, and other essential items.

Most importantly, they experienced moments of happiness, encouragement, and kindness.

Final Thoughts

As we reflect on The Plumber’s Dream 2026, we are grateful for every volunteer, donor, supporter, and child we met along the way.

The long drives, high altitudes, and challenges of reaching these remote villages were all worth it when we saw the children’s smiles.

Together, we continue making a difference, one child, one family, and one village at a time.

Changing lives through compassion, service, and hope.

Those smiles are the reason we keep coming back.
