Delivery in Huaco Village 2024

After completing the delivery in Volcano Village, our volunteers set out for Huaco Village, which is located approximately an hour and a half away. Once we arrive in Huaco Village, we will meet with another group of eager children who are excitedly waiting to receive their baskets filled with goodies.

Huaco Village is a small, tight-knit community that we have had the pleasure of visiting for the past nine years. During our visits, we have established strong connections with the families and children living there. We always ensure to leave time in our schedule to reach other locations as well, so we can maximize our outreach and support.

Our mission is to bring joy and assistance to these children throughout the year, and it brings us great happiness to see them grow and thrive over time. The picture below captures the moment of delivery, showcasing each child receiving their baskets, which also include duvet queen covers to provide them with comfort and warmth. We take pride in our efforts to make a positive impact in their lives.

We are excited to share an uplifting picture of a group of children and babies that we recently found. Each child received a beautiful duvet cover, ensuring they stay warm and comfortable. In addition, we provided baskets filled with a variety of essential items, including school supplies such as notebooks, pencils, and art materials; hygiene products like soap, toothpaste, and personal care items; as well as backpacks, shoes, and clothing to meet their everyday needs. The baskets also included toys and delicious fruit cake to bring some joy into their lives.

To celebrate this occasion, the children enjoyed a delightful chocolate milk party, where they could indulge in sweet treats like extra sweet bread. It was heartwarming to see their smiles and laughter as they savored these special moments. We feel incredibly fortunate to return and witness their growth over the past year.

The hygiene supplies that the children received are expected to last for six months, while the school supplies are designed to sustain them for an entire year. Our plan is to come back in a year to replenish these vital resources and continue supporting their education and well-being.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the customers of Arch Plumbing for their generous contributions, which made it possible for us to reach these children. Your support helped cover all expenses related to shipping, traveling, accommodation, transportation, and food for our dedicated volunteers. Delivery in Volcano Village 2024

Our team has embarked on a journey, leaving the town behind as we head towards the majestic mountains to meet a group of children eagerly awaiting our arrival. The trip is expected to take us approximately three and a half hours to reach our destination for our first delivery of the day.

As we approach, we will be greeted by the first group of children, and we are excited to present them with their care baskets filled with essentials, along with a special treat of chocolate milk and sweet bread—items they have been looking forward to. To capture this special moment, we will be taking photos of each delivery, ensuring that we document the joy on their faces. The area we are traversing is quite remote, bordered by the looming mountains that serve as a stunning backdrop to our journey. The contrast of the seasonal changes adds a magical touch to this meaningful delivery.

In the next images, we are showcasing the recent delivery of a queen-sized duvet cover along with a basket filled with essential items for children in need.

This basket contains an assortment of school supplies, hygiene products, clothing, shoes, toys, diapers for infants, and even a delightful fruit cake for all the children to enjoy.

The children expressed their heartfelt gratitude for these generous donations. The Plumbers Dream 2024

This year, we have been discussing which cities we will be assisting in Ayacucho, Peru. The conversation turned into a debate about whether we should go deeper into the mountains “Volcan Village” or not.

We need to consider that we must leave the place where the children are, “Huaco,” by 3:30 and arrive in the city before it gets dark.

Since there is no specific road, we can get lost. The issue was that the team wanted to go two hours deeper from the village we normally visit, making it a four-hour trip, and then return to our usual village, “Huaco,” for our annual celebration before heading to the city in two hours.

Please gather the kids from the other Villages and bring them to our usual meeting place.

When we were deciding whether to ask one of the volunteers from the village to bring a group of children to our usual spot in Huaco, they sent this picture and said that they couldn’t drive them over to the village in Huaco because they would have to go back and forth with all the packages, and there were 11 children, including babies.

When we saw the location of the Children, we realized we had no other choice but to go there as quickly as possible to deliver and return. We began planning our procedure: first, we will go to Volcano Village to make a quick delivery, then we will go back down to Huaco Village to deliver the item we are bringing for them, and we aim to leave by 3:30. Most of our time will be spent on the road, but hopefully, everything will work out.

Preparing all the Baskets

After discussing our process, we begin our journey to Ayacucho and the mountains to reach our destination. We take an airplane, then a bus, and finally a truck to reach our goal. Of course, we also pack everything that the children will need.

The children will receive the following list of items:

School supplies (notebook, pencils, erasers, pens, colored pencils, markers, glue, scissors, pencil case)
Backpack
Shoes
Hygiene supplies (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste)
Outfit (pants, socks, sweater)
Scarf
Hat
Toy

In addition, each child will receive a comfortable queen bed and a large fruit cake. They will also have hot cocoa with fruit cake at the event meeting.

It was a long night spent carefully packing and labeling all these essentials for each child. Every package is personalized based on the child’s age and specific needs. For instance, babies receive diapers and wipes instead of school supplies, and their hygiene items are tailored to their unique requirements. Each package is a reflection of the volunteers’ heartfelt consideration for the individual needs of the children.

In the other video, you can see why we have to return before 3:30. In the video, you can appreciate that there is nothing around. We are going on a tiny road, and there is nothing around – not even a tree, just rock, like a desert, but in the mountains.

Great! The entire group of children is ready for the meeting. We can start by serving them chocolate milk and fruit cake.

We’re ready to serve the milk to everybody and see how these children enjoy drinking it. It’s heartening to know that we were able to find this group of children in need, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to help them.
